Confidance Wear was created by a passionate dancer and designer for other dancers and fitness lovers 🦋

Oh hi there! My name is Monika and I am a lot of things:

• an engineer with master's in spatial planning (architecture)
• senior interior designer 
• semi-professional dancer
• graphic design enthusiast
• the owner of Confidance Wear.

Passionate and creative perfectionist always looking for improvement. I always put my heart and soul into every project I touch. With a keen eye for colour, detail, great visual communication skills and ability to combine the client’s vision with my unique sense of style.

In a nutshell: I am originally from Poland, came to Australia in 2015, got introduced to street latin dance & fell in love with it, officially opened Confidance Wear in February 2021.

One of the life quotes I follow is ‘Do it with passion or not at all’. 

What makes me happy? Blue sky on a sunny day, travelling, dance, burgers, great company and good music.

How has it all started? 

I am sure you have experienced it before - when you have an image in your head and once you start doing it, it doesn’t turn out exactly how you imagined? Let’s say the cake you got a recipe for which doesn’t look or tastes as you were hoping. Or the dance pattern you want to learn which looks so sophisticated and easy on the video... well, nothing as I imagined. Call it as you wish - frustration, annoyance, maybe it leads to giving up. For me it always is a trigger to start looking at different options how to make it possible and as close as it can be to perfect. And that’s exactly what happened with Confidance Wear. I was actually looking for a pair of leggings I wanted to get but couldn’t find it anywhere. Every design I came across was not exactly the one I was looking for. Everyone around me was wearing similar, repetitive patterns and I wanted to wear something different, original and which would represent myself. So here was the thought - why won’t I design it myself? So I did and I loved it! It sounds easy but it took a long time, patience and effort to make it real. But here I am - opened an online shop with designs I love, of the products I use every day. I truly believe in cooperation, support and teamwork. Because I know how ‘frustrating’ it can be... I wanted to create an opportunity for everyone else to get their favourite sport clothes which I will help you design!

Why the name?

My brand is not only for dancers. It is for everyone who values comfort, creative design, elegance. I believe that confidence is a huge part of our lives. If it comes to personal, work life, dancing... anything really. It brings the best in us whether we train, perform, compete or teach. It makes us feel stronger, passionate, expressive, powerful. This is why I have decided to play a word game and combine both - dance and confidence (original logo below).

Confidence transforms our dancing drastically and takes it to the next level. But usually it doesn't happen just like that. There always is a trigger which switches it on. It can be make up, hair, shoes, audience. For me it is my outfit which plays a huge role. Wearing something I really like, something comfy and pretty makes me feel more confident and takes away these annoying thoughts - 'do I look ok? does my belly look flat? can anyone see that sweaty spot on my back?'. We can focus on what's important in that moment and give 100% when we are comfortable, worry-free, happy and confident. 

My mission is to:

• create a place where dancers & fitness lovers would go to buy their favourite practice wear together with all necessary accessories,
• cooperate with some great artists and promote their work by sharing it with others,
• be the destination for someone who wants to create a design for their new casual favourite clothes, festival apparel, dance school/team outfit, etc,
• build a value system centred on happiness, cooperation, growth and confidence through our various products and services.

But most of all, I would love to be the reason of your improved confidence. To  give you peace of mind and let you enjoy that dance or workout without worrying about your clothes. Do you know why? Because you will look beautiful in any of our products! I have absolutely no doubts.

What are my values?

Some of the goals I set up can seem way bigger than what I can handle. But I have proven to myself over and over again that “when there’s a will, there’s a way”. I do believe that we can achieve more as a team. We help each other, making it possible for us to achieve our goals. Because of that and how organised we are, we are able to accomplish the tasks no matter how big they are. We know that nothing comes for free. That hard work pays off. This is why I have spent countless hours choosing, designing and producing high-quality, breathable and amazing looking clothes & accessories. 

Confidance Wear is also not only an activewear brand. I love cooperating with others and supporting each other in different sectors. I promote graphic designers by using their work on my clothes, I support local production and care about environment. 

Environmental impacts 

Our products are made to order which is a big step towards sustainable and responsible fashion production. What does that mean? It simply means that products get printed only when a customer buys them. In traditional retail stores, products are made in large quantities and often exceed market demand. Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. We produce less waste, warehouse only the products customers actually want and don't throw our leftover stock into landfills.

We try to process as many documents as we can electronically to reduce paper use. We're working on optimizing our cut & sew production line to reduce the leftover fabric scraps. We're exploring ways to become more environmentally conscious while giving you quality products that last.

We are working on improving our packaging and also donate damaged and returned products to local charities.
